Tell me about the Open Loop NY?

Open Loop NY is a Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing bus tours company of New York. Our open-top double-decker buses are equipped with pre-recorded commentary in 9 languages that can be listened to via complimentary headphones supplied on board during the tours. There are five tour routes: Uptown (Blue Route), Downtown (Red Route), Midtown (Gray Route), the Brooklyn Tour (Golden Route), and the Night Tour (Black Route). You may hop off at any of our Uptown and Downtown tours stops to visit the attractions and neighborhoods you wish to explore. When you are ready, hop back on the bus at any of our listed stops to continue the tour.

 

Do the tours operate every day?

Open Loop New York runs tours every day of the year, except for New Year’s Eve when we operate approx. from 8:00 am to 2.00 pm according to the city street closures. Occasionally, severe weather and NYC special events could affect service. Please check our service information for up to date details.

 

How much time should I plan on for a tour?

Downtown Loop (Red Route): A full tour is approximately 2.5-3 hours if you stay on the bus for the whole tour.

Uptown Loop (Blue Route): A full tour is approximately 2-2.5 hours if you stay on the bus for the whole tour.

Midtown Loop (Gray Route): 1 hour continuous tour (no hop-on hop-off service).

Brooklyn Tour (Golden Route): 2 hours continuous tour (no hop-on hop-off service).

Night Tour (Black Route): 2 hours continuous tour (no hop-on hop-off service).

 

Will there be a tour guide on the bus?

Our buses are equipped with pre-recorded audio-guide, available in your choice of 9 languages. You can listen to the audio-guide via your own pair of free headphones, distributed while boarding the bus. The audio-guide provides educational commentary activated by GPS locations linked to the attractions in the immediate area of the tour. 

 

Is the audio-guide available in my language?

All buses are equipped with pre-recorded audio-guide which is available in the following 9 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean, Russian.

 

Which passes include the Night Tour?

The Night Tour is included in all our All Loops tickets. You can also buy the Night Tour ticket separately or additionally to your other tickets. The Night Tour is a 2 hours long loop which departs every half an hour from Stop #3 (46th St. & Broadway) from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and from Stop#33 (51st St. & Broadway) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Please note that the Night Tour is not a hop-on hop-off service which means you should stay on the bus during the whole tour.

What time are the first and the last buses and how often do they run?

Downtown Loop (Red Route): the first bus departs Stop #1 - W 42nd St. btw. 8th & 9th Ave. at 8:00 am. A full circuit is approx. 2.5-3 hours. Buses arrive every 15 min in summer and 30 min in winter. The last tour departure from Stop #1 is at 6:00 pm.

Uptown Loop (Blue Route): the first bus departs Stop #1 - W 42nd St. btw. 8th & 9th Ave. at 8.00 am. A full circuit is approx. 2-2.5 hours. Buses arrive every 20 min in summer and 30 min in winter. The last tour departure from Stop #1 is at 6:00 pm.

Midtown Loop (Gray Route): the first bus departs Stop #1 - W 42nd St. btw. 8th & 9th Ave. at 8:00 am. A full circuit is approx. 1 hour. Buses arrive every 30 min. The last tour departure from Stop #1 is at 6:00 pm.

Brooklyn Tour (Golden Route): Buses depart Stop #9 - 477 Broadway btw. Broome & Grand St. at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. A full circuit is 2 hours.

Night Tour (Black Route): the first bus departs Stop #3 (46th St. & Broadway) and Stop #33 (51st St. & Broadway) at 7:00 pm. A full circuit is 2 hours. Buses arrive every 30 min. The last tour departure from Stop #3 is at 10:00 pm.

Please note: your ticket is valid for at least 24 hours, so if you start your tour at 2.00 pm, you can use your ticket until the same time the following day.

 

Are accommodations available for persons with disabilities?

Yes, all our buses are wheelchair accessible. Please note that passengers with mobility impairments may not be able to access the upper deck on our buses. We also cannot guarantee the accessibility of the various attractions during the tour.

 

Can I hire one of the buses for a private event?

Yes, buses are available for private events. Please email us for more information.  

 

What tours include the Statue of Liberty Cruise?

The Statue of Liberty cruise is included in our NYC Bus & Boat Cruise packages. It's also available for purchasing additionally with any other ticket or package. The 1 hour cruise features spectacular views of the Manhattan skylines and Lady Liberty, as well as two full cash bars. The cruise departs from Pier 16 at South Street Seaport which is walking distance from Downtown Stop #14.

 

What are the cruises schedules?

What is the cruise boarding process?

Boarding begins half an hour before departure. To ensure you get on the cruise at the time you are interested in, please arrive 45 min to 1 hr before the departure to allow yourself enough time to obtain boarding passes from the box office and to find seating on the cruise.

 

Which bus stop should I get off to reach Pier 16 for Statue of Liberty Express?

You can reach Pier 16 at South Street Seaport at Downtown Stop #14. 

 

What is your child ticketing policy?

Children under 5 y.o. may travel free of charge. A child ticket is available for children aged between 5 and 12 y.o.  All children must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers must be folded and stowed on the lower deck.

 

How do I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets on our website or from any of our street agents located throughout New York City or at our Guest Center at 785 8th Ave. (btw. 47th and 48th St.). 

 

How do I redeem my voucher?

You must redeem your voucher for an Open Loop Bus Pass to access the tours. Please redeem your voucher at our Guest Center at 785 8th Ave., btw. 47th & 48th St. or through our controllers located throughout NYC. Please call our Guest Center to know the locations of our controllers. After you redeem your voucher for a Bus Pass, simply scan the Pass as you board the bus.

 

How does online booking discount work?

Get the $5 discount for booking online. During the buying process, please fill out the "Coupon Code" field with the code OLNYWEB16.

 

Is there a discount available for groups?

Yes, discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. Please email us for more information.  

 

I have 2-day boarding pass. Do I have to use it on consecutive days?

Yes. If you purchase a 2, 3, or 5 days ticket, you must travel on consecutive days.

 

Do you have a guest center in New York?

Yes. We have a Guest Center located close to Times Square on 785 8th Avenue (btw. 47th and 48th St.). The Guest Center operating hours are from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm in winter and from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm in summer. You can redeem vouchers, purchase tickets, and get information on our attraction partners at the Guest Center. The closest subway to our Guest Center are the E and C trains stop, located on 50th St. & 8th Ave. There is a small parking garage located on 48th St. btw. 8th & 9th Ave. and additional parking options at Port Authority, located on 42nd St. & 8th Ave.

If I'm not satisfied with the tour, am I able to get a refund?

We are passionate about making your sightseeing experience as pleasant as possible. However, if we're unable to operate a service during the period of the validity of your ticket due to circumstances totally within our control, you shall be entitled to a full or part refund of the price of your ticket. Please mail your refund request within 14 days of the tour to Open Loop NY Guest Department, 785 8th Ave., New York, NY 10036. Please include your original boarding passes, receipts, and a written statement explaining why you are requesting a refund. Please note that we are not liable for delay or failure to perform any of the services if such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
